Philly Pretzel Factory’s original website had served them for years—but it was long overdue for a transformation. As a rapidly growing franchise with over 180+ locations, the brand needed a digital presence that could keep pace with its momentum, better serve customers, and reflect the energy and appeal of their product.
When we stepped in to redesign the site in 2023, we weren’t just refreshing the visuals—we reimagined what their web experience should be. From how customers discover their local store to how they browse products, we scrutinized every interaction. The original site lacked dynamic media, was weighed down by oversized graphics, wasn’t mobile-optimized, and didn’t make it easy for customers to place orders or even find the nearest location—despite that being the site’s most visited page.
We took a ground-up approach. Every element was rebuilt to serve a stronger purpose, tell a richer story, and bring the Philly Pretzel Factory brand to life in a way that had never been done before online.
Deliverable
We started with a complete overhaul of the site architecture and UX flow. The homepage now leads with a high-impact video-capable hero that introduces the brand with movement, personality, and appetite appeal. This video instantly increased time on site and created a more modern, immersive feel.
Every product was rephotographed to showcase the freshness and variety that Philly Pretzel Factory offers. We gave special attention to the Dips section – historically underrepresented – creating a full flavor-focused experience, complete with an interactive feature that lets users explore each dip’s taste profile.
The most visited page on the old site, Find A Location, was also one of the most underperforming. We completely rebuilt it for speed, usability, and visual clarity. Now, visitors can quickly find their nearest store with improved filters, responsive map integration, and real-time updates – all wrapped in a clean, mobile-friendly interface.
Ordering from the site used to be clunky and inconsistent. We streamlined the process and added multiple clear entry points for online ordering throughout the site – helping convert casual browsers into loyal customers faster.
To support their growing public presence, we created a fully custom newsroom module. It allows the Philly Pretzel Factory team to publish PR hits, media coverage, and branded news directly to their site, keeping franchisees and fans alike in the loop.
Beyond design, the backend was just as important. We ensured the new site was optimized for speed, SEO, and scalability, dramatically improving load times and mobile performance.
